The Creativity Project {Family}

The family is one of nature’s masterpieces. ~George Santayana

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one. ~Jane HowardWhat greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life — to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories. ~George EliotEach day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children. The Creativity Project {Art}

The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.

Art is the stored honey of the human soul, gathered on wings of misery and travail.

Theodore Dreiser

“Creativity takes courage. ” ― Henri Matisse

The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.

Pablo Picasso

My art is very personal to me.

It feels like a risk every time I post images such as these.

It's easy to post what you think everyone wants to see, but that goes against what my soul is screaming out and begging me to create.

I'd like to thank my dear friend Dan from DTB Photography for helping make my vision come true in these images.

I knew what I wanted. I knew I needed help, and I knew he could help me pull it off.

Dan has his own vision and art that he captures so naturally. He has a love for New Jersey and it really shows in his images.

You can find his FB page HERE and his post for this month HERE.

The Creativity Project has truly been receiving some amazing submissions lately. I am really excited to see what {Art} you will all create & share on our FaceBook Page.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

The Creativity Project {Fur Babies}

Our theme this month is {fur babies} at The Creativity Project.

Luckily we have 3...

And some of us have a soft spot in our hearts for just about any fur baby we come across.

I have loved watching Linhsey and Charlie's relationship.

It's beautiful.

She's good with our cat BlackJack too.Summer isn't the friendliest, but Linhsey and her have a relationship too.It's okay Charlie, you can photobomb my pictures any day!She wants to meet and greet every dog she comes across, no matter the size. She even finds other Basset Hounds when we are out and about.We like to visit a local farm to see the animals.And she has no problem pitching in...Or getting right down on the ground with them...Animal lovers we are!

If you have a soft spot in your heart for fur babies then you will definitely want to check out the others in our circle. You'll be surprised at what you will find!

We would also love to feature images of your {Fur Babies} on our FB page so please share and post your favorites to our wall.

The Creativity Project {Light & Love}

This month's theme {Light & Love} for The Creativity Project happened to fall perfectly with a class I just finished up at

The Define School.

I have taken several classes over the years, but I have to say that 3 at the Define school were

life changing for me.

Molly Flanagan's Visual Storytelling.

The Parson's A Seat at the Table.

And my most recent,

Michelle Gardella's Awakening the Spark.

Michelle opened my eyes and heart to so much light and love.

Here are some images that were taken during and right after her class.

Please share your images of what {Light & Love} mean to you on our FaceBook page and we will be featuring many of YOUR

images throughout the month.

To continue through our circle just click HERE to Erica Lee's blog.

Thank you !

The Creativity Project {Fresh}

is the theme for January's Creativity Project

and I found it fitting to wake to freshly fallen snow recently.

The kids were excited,

and I was thankful Gene and Kristen took Linhsey out to play in it

because me and the cold don't get along very well.

The theme {Fresh} can be interpreted in so many different ways.

A fresh start to the New Year.

Fresh out of the oven.

Freshly cut flowers.

I'm excited to see how everyone interpreted our theme this month,

and I'm also excited to see who will join along and post images to our FaceBook Fan Page.

We love to feature fans who join in.

The Creativity Project {Holiday Traditions}

The holidays seem to be in full swing, and as tradition has it we went to the tree farm this weekend to pick out our tree for this year.

This is something I look forward to documenting each year. The farm is old and family owned. There is a little 100+ year old barn that used to house turkeys that now offers warmth, hot cocoa and candy canes for the children.

I cannot imagine going anywhere else for a tree.

Follow through the rest of the circle by clicking HERE to visit Erica Freitas.

I hope you will all join in and post to our Facebook Fan Page. We love to feature fans!

What are your holiday traditions?

Happy Holidays!

I hope you will take the time and click through our circle to see all the lovely new talent that has been added. Many of our newest members were once fans participating on our FaceBook Fan Page! The Creativity Project {Water}

The theme this month is water...Here at the Jersey Shore there is plenty of water for the summertime. Pools to swim in, hoses and sprinklers to play in, streams to dig for fossils in, lakes to fish at, rivers to watch the sun set at, and of course beaches.

{All images were taken with my iPhone and LifeProof case}

You can find these shots and more in my Instagram feed @thecovertlens. Please join us this month and click through our circle to Buckeroomama's page and perhaps stop by our Facebook Fan Page and share your very own water images!

Until next month!

The Creativity Project~{Blur}

Blur is the theme this month with our Creativity Project. There are a variety of ways to achieve blur in a photograph, but I chose to use my Lensbaby for this project. I've owned this lens for quite a while and have only used it a handful of times. I should use it more often...

I set out more than once to attempt to capture blur...

Please click HERE to see what Singwa from Buckeroo Mama has done with our theme. We always enjoy having others participate on our Facebook page, so post away!

Until next month!
