The Color of Love and Grief

Love and grief, connection and wound...they share the same color.

The truth is, grief and love coexist.

Both ask us to bleed.

One when we lose,

the other when we dare to keep.

They say red threads bind us together,

but no one warns you

how much it hurts to hold on

or how much it costs to let go.

My vulnerability bleeds through my chest.

One by one, my truths seep out.

These are my confessions.

There is a cost to loving deeply.

My heart never closes.

In loving, I opened my chest.

In grieving, I never stitched it shut.

And so, love and grief become the same color.

There is mourning here.

But also healing.

Surrender.

They don’t tell you

that to love someone deeply

is to live at the edge of joy and grief

at once.
