Life {Unscripted} Blog Circle Vol. 1

Those who follow me know that at heart, I truly enjoy capturing life's moments and stories as they unfold.

This month a fellow photographer, Natalie, from Act Naturally Photography, formed a new blog circle that features life's unscripted moments. I'm really excited and honored to become

a part of this new project with so many other talented photographers.

If you reached me by Elise's blog at Elise Meader Photography, Welcome!

For our first month I decided to use a series of images that were taken apple picking with my son and his girlfriend.

It's not too often he shows up in my images being a busy teen and all, so I will hold on to these beloved memories with these images.

When you're finished here I do so hope you will continue on to Natalie's blog, ACTNATURALLYPHOTOGRAPHY .

She created a Facebook page for Life {Unscripted} and the {unscripted} moments have been pouring in! You can share

your {unscripted} moments by clicking HERE and liking our page!

Natalie's post for our circle this month can be found HERE and if you don't follow her already on Facebook you can click HERE.

The Creativity Project {The Men in Our Lives}

I knew right away what I wanted to do for this month's theme with the Creativity Project. ~ The Men in Our Lives My son Gene is turning out to be quite the young man and I couldn't be more proud or happier.

He's wrapping up his freshman year in the AP Academy in high school, and going out with a the senior prom with his girlfriend, Kristen.

I think these two are mature and wise beyond their years, and well I'm in love with their chemistry and the way they look at each other.

Please click HERE to see what Singwa from Buckeroo Mama has done with our theme. We always enjoy having others participate on our Facebook page, so post away!

Until next month!

Golden Falcon Marching Band, Florida Trip

We recently just returned from a trip to Disney with Gene's marching band. The weather was cool and it rained on and off, but I did manage to bring my camera out one of the days we were there. Linhsey is a Gryffindor student now at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry . I think she would have slept in this uniform if I let her. She got so much attention in it everywhere we went that I think she believes she is famous now. The candy shop in Diagon Alley... We bought the jelly beans and she ate the earwax one...and a chocolate frog. The talking paintings in Hogwarts.Minutes before her brother's parade started..She's playing the piano with her fingers there. She does it everywhere now. Truffula trees! She followed along and took videos...

Hopefully the kids will do it all again in 2 years... I know they had a great time!

Favorite Photo Friday

Someone recently pointed out something to me that should have been quite obvious. I suppose life gets in the way of things sometimes...temporarily blinds a person and blocks out what's right there in front of them. With that being said, I have begun teaching Linhsey piano lessons. It's rewarding to witness her excitement over it, and it warms my heart to hear her practice her new found talent. It's a bonus that Gene joins in from time to time as well too.

I'm thankful my children have a love for music like I always have. Whether it be the drums, guitar, or now piano, I always hope to have a home filled with music.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sunday Snapshot

After numerous trips to the tree farm in the past month, we finally got our tree yesterday. I adore this shot of Linhsey with her arms around Gene. Can you tell she loves her big brother? They carefully examined each tree in search of the one we would bring home.I of course had to get some shots of them together because really, how often does that happen?I love it when she goes into deep thought. I wonder what she is thinking here?

The tree made it home and was adorned with lights and candy canes. Today we'll put on the ornaments and hope for the best with 2 dogs and  a cat. Charlie is going to have a great time!

*These were all taken midday on an overcast day. I switched between my 50mm f/1.4 and 100mm f/2. They are all processed in Lightroom 4 using One Willow's Palette Collection presets.

Happy Birthday Linhsey!

Such a bittersweet day. Somewhere out there, there is a mother who gave birth to a beautiful baby girl 6 years ago today...and I thank her from the depths of my soul and the bottom of my heart. This beautiful child has given me life...with her beauty, her old soul, her loving heart. Her very being has shook me to the core and I couldn't be any more thankful. I love you Li Li. Happy birthday to the sweetest, spunkiest, 6 year old EVER.

The only child I know who would pick the cupcake before presents! To see both of them smile like this? At the same time? Priceless. Can you just hear the giggles?!

Love. Her.

Fishing~ Family Style

A Sunday picnic with the family at a local lake. Is he not the cutest?!

Father and son. After looking at the picture I think I just stated the obvious. Their new puppy! All 5 lbs of him. My favorite picture in tomorrow's post is of cousin K .I love the look of concern on L's face when Mike said the fish swallowed the hook. L caught 5 sunnies last night. She was on fire!

Yes, we definitely need to do this again.
