Just a little glimpse of a recent weekend with her cousins...
I think it's safe to say Linhsey is completely smitten with her baby cousin Aubree!I also think it's safe to say that I am too...I held her..And loved on her...And held her while she drank her bottle...And tried to get as much of her as I could when Linhsey and my mom weren't looking...
I didn't want to leave!
Suddenly my babies look even bigger to me now...
This month's theme for our Creativity Project is sun flare. Anyone that knows me knows I love sun flare.
I look for it so much that even Linhsey is trained to find it and point it out to me.
I find myself watching a movie and calling out " Oooh! look at that sun flare!"
Sunday night the family got together and we all met at a lake my cousin and I used to fish at as children.
Here is a lightbox of some old favorites.
Again our circle has grown so please click through everyone for some amazing images and inspiration.
A Sunday picnic with the family at a local lake. Is he not the cutest?!
Father and son. After looking at the picture I think I just stated the obvious. Their new puppy! All 5 lbs of him. My favorite picture in tomorrow's post is of cousin K .I love the look of concern on L's face when Mike said the fish swallowed the hook. L caught 5 sunnies last night. She was on fire!
Yes, we definitely need to do this again.
Yesterday morning we headed to a pool party for the little boy who has professed his love for L. Apparently the feelings are mutual so she informed us.
After that we headed to PA to L's cousin A's house to celebrate their Grandfather's birthday.
It was a day full of fun in the sun....and water.
These were taken with my 24-70 f2.8 and 100mm f/2. They were edited in Photoshop CS6 using Red Leaf Studios Film Solution actions. I used the Color|400 action with no adjustments. I love using these actions because when I look at the final images I feel like I am looking at images from my father's photo albums. They give the images a film like feel and make me feel nostalgic for my childhood. I'm so happy my father documented my childhood through photos.
A glimpse into our Sunday night with family.
She knows how to pick her horse and she takes it very seriously.Love that boyish grin!Love the idea of this table made from a barrel. My cousins and aunt and uncle!I'm 10 years older than her, and I love her and her sister SO MUCH. It was such a nice day with my family. She insisted on swimming even though it was such a cool day.
It didn't last long!
Happy Father's Day Dad and Mike!
Love you both!
Our weekend in pictures. Saturday we went to a local flea market at the beach in Ocean Grove. I found the coolest thing! I'll have to take a picture of it. I'm in love with it!
Every spring the tents get erected in Ocean Grove . At one point there were over 600 of them. I believe there are only slightly over 100 left now. You can read about it HERE . It's pretty interesting!
Sunday started off with a visit to the Red Bank Farmers Market to see Adam at the Cinnamon Snail.
We were second in line.
This guy was first.
L had the chocolate cookie glazed donut.
Mike gets the breakfast burrito...religiously....with no hot peppers. Adam knows this and always has one off to the side waiting for Mike.
Me? I had the Creole Grilled Tofu Sub and O.M.G.
After that we headed to Poricy Park with the cousins to sift for fossils. Click HERE to read about the 72 million year old fossils we found. It was a blast and I can't wait to go back again.
Hope everyone had a great weekend too!
What's better than a fair....at the beach....with your cousins...celebrating one of their birthdays?!
Look at her excitement as we got closer!
She had no idea what she was getting herself into here. Here is a closer look at her expression that she had the WHOLE.WAY.DOWN. Is that some serious hooping face or what?!
L is getting a little more daring on the tire swing. As you can see it takes about....oh let me see....
One day in the sun for L to develop her tan.
Friday we watched the movie " We Bought a Zoo." I cried.
On Sunday we visited the Popcorn Park Zoo with the cousins. This zoo is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds. They had everything from monkeys to tigers, and there were peacocks EVERYWHERE we walked. It's interesting to read each animals background info and see how they came to live there.
L and I adored the deer. They were so sweet and gentle. She even leaned in to blow a kiss to one. And as you can see in the pictures, they give you popcorn to feed to the animals.
After that the cousins came back to our house to play....but that's for another post.
Always fun when the cousins come over. Duck, duck, GOOSE!
Psst! I have a secret!
Not too high Uncle B!
