The Creativity Project {Home}

This month's theme at The Creativity Project is {Home} and this summer has been spent home.

Linhsey hasn't been feeling well since the end of June so most of our days and evenings are spent here.

Home.

The Creativity Project {Fresh}

{Fresh}

is the theme for January's Creativity Project

and I found it fitting to wake to freshly fallen snow recently.

The kids were excited,

and I was thankful Gene and Kristen took Linhsey out to play in it

because me and the cold don't get along very well.

The theme {Fresh} can be interpreted in so many different ways.

A fresh start to the New Year.

Fresh out of the oven.

Freshly cut flowers.

I'm excited to see how everyone interpreted our theme this month,

and I'm also excited to see who will join along and post images to our FaceBook Fan Page.

We love to feature fans who join in.

The Creativity Project~{Blur}

Blur is the theme this month with our Creativity Project. There are a variety of ways to achieve blur in a photograph, but I chose to use my Lensbaby for this project. I've owned this lens for quite a while and have only used it a handful of times. I should use it more often...

I set out more than once to attempt to capture blur...

The Creativity Project {The Men in Our Lives}

I knew right away what I wanted to do for this month's theme with the Creativity Project. ~ The Men in Our Lives My son Gene is turning out to be quite the young man and I couldn't be more proud or happier.

He's wrapping up his freshman year in the AP Academy in high school, and going out with a bang...to the senior prom with his girlfriend, Kristen.

I think these two are mature and wise beyond their years, and well I'm in love with their chemistry and the way they look at each other.

The Creativity Project ~ Street Photography

I had so much fun with this month's theme for The Creativity Project. Street Photography.

I wanted to do something unique to my corner of the world. I'm close to NYC which was my original choice, but then I thought of the boardwalk. The boardwalk and Jersey go hand in hand.

Atlantic City, NJ.

Please click HERE to see what Singwa from Buckeroo Mama has done with our theme. She resides in Hong Kong so you won't want to miss her post! Also, we have a new photographer in our group. Joseph is so talented so be sure you make it to the end of the circle! We always enjoy having others participate on our Facebook page, so post away!

Summer.

It's hard to imagine summer here when we have had such a cold, snowy winter and spring in New Jersey, but I thought I would share the first two images from my original "Summer" post and then some images of what the Jersey Shore looks like now after Hurricane Sandy. I have a feeling summer will be forever changed around here.

The plan to rebuild the Jersey Shore is in full effect...

The Creativity Project{Resolutions}

The theme this month over at the Creativity Project is Resolutions. I'm sure we all have at least a handful of resolutions we should be making, but for this year in regards to my photography I'm resolving to be more consistent with my style and editing. I tend to get caught up in other's websites and ooh and ahh over different actions, presets and props. All of that is beautiful eye candy, but in reality it's not me. I'm more simple and tend to be drawn to black & white more than color most times. If you come to my house you will see more black & white portraits and canvases on my walls than color, and they all speak to me...No distractions from color or an over abundance of props. They tell who I am as a photographer and they show the true raw beauty of the subject.

Please join us this month on our Facebook page and share your resolutions whether they be photography related or not by clicking HERE...

This month's theme at the Creativity Project is about being thankful, and while I have so very much in my life to be thankful about there is always one thing that stands out the most. The first time I laid eyes on her...

Linh_-7

The Creativity Project~ Sun Flare

This month's theme for our Creativity Project is sun flare. Anyone that knows me knows I love sun flare.

I look for it so much that even Linhsey is trained to find it and point it out to me.

I find myself watching a movie and calling out " Oooh! look at that sun flare!"

Sunday night the family got together and we all met at a lake my cousin and I used to fish at as children.

Here is a lightbox of some old favorites.

Again our circle has grown so please click through everyone for some amazing images and inspiration.

The Creativity Project

Last month a small group of talented photographers started a monthly project on the 10th of each month called " The Creativity Project". When Becky from Life with Kaishon asked to me to join in their circle for this month I was thrilled! And slightly nervous.

Each month one of the photographers will pick a theme. Their first theme was " The Girl____" . They each filled in the blank beautifully. I figured, yeah, I could do this.

When I found out the theme for this month my first reaction was RUN! I'm just being honest : )

The theme is "Double Exposure".

What the heck is that?! Wait, I need to use Photoshop?!

Once I learned what it was, I had a vision of what I wanted to do. I knew the 2 images I wanted to use.

But how?

Oh Gene! Will you please help me?

Thanks to Gene, I got through the first month.

I love how it looks like she has her arm around herself, and how both L's are gazing up at something.

Please be sure to keep the circle going and click HERE to head on over Becky's post. It should be interesting to see each photographer's take on " Double Exposure".
