Favorite Photo Friday {Conversations With L}

Last night as I was tucking this sweet child in, the conversation went as follows... L- You're the best Mommy in the whole world. You're the only Mommy I'll ever want.

Me- You're the best LiLi in the whole world..

L- There might be another Linhsey out there that you would like better who doesn't lie to their Mommy.

Me- No, you're the only Linhsey for me. Wait, did you lie to me?!

An impish grin came across her face as she finished with- A couple of times!

Sunday Snapshot {Counting the Rings}

She's been sick for over a week and it has made its' way through everyone in the house now. This morning she woke up and drew a "Cycle of Sickness". Her words, not mine. She started off with Kristen, Gene's girlfriend {Sorry Kristen!} and from there it went to Gene, her, and so on. She labeled everyone's symptoms. She put down asthma for Kristen...I saw fever, sore throat and cough thrown in the chart too.

Here's hoping to a fresh start this week!

A Bit Under the Weather...

Both kids have been feeling a bit under the weather lately...I can see it in her eyes in these images. This little shoot was completely her doing. We planned on visiting the Peace Garden through our woods, but found it closed and netted for the winter. She liked this pine tree. I think I love it.

Favorite Photo Friday{What's My Deservement?}

Every time Linhsey finishes up a quick shoot with me she will ask " What's my deservement?" It's her own way of asking what does she deserve for doing such wonderful work for me.

Sometimes it's cheese. She loves cheese.

Sometimes it's chocolate. She loves that too.

Sometimes it's even a slice of turkey for the vegetarian girl...

Today it was a lollipop...

The Creativity Project{Resolutions}

The theme this month over at the Creativity Project is Resolutions. I'm sure we all have at least a handful of resolutions we should be making, but for this year in regards to my photography I'm resolving to be more consistent with my style and editing. I tend to get caught up in other's websites and ooh and ahh over different actions, presets and props. All of that is beautiful eye candy, but in reality it's not me. I'm more simple and tend to be drawn to black & white more than color most times. If you come to my house you will see more black & white portraits and canvases on my walls than color, and they all speak to me...No distractions from color or an over abundance of props. They tell who I am as a photographer and they show the true raw beauty of the subject.

Please join us this month on our Facebook page and share your resolutions whether they be photography related or not by clicking HERE...

Until next month!

We had a week of beautiful weather, and then it was gone. It dropped down to the 40's with no sun in sight. These were taken around 3pm near the front windows of the great room. I used my dad's 85mm lens. I recently bought the 24-70mm 2.8 L lens and am struggling to like it. Can someone help me fall in love with it? Please?
